A special called SBDM council meeting will take place at Western Elementary School on Wednesday, June 17, at 9:00 a.m. to conduct interviews. This will be a closed session meeting.
If your child has medication at school, either prescription or over-the-counter, please come and pick up the medication by May 22. The school nurse's office hours are 7:30 am - 3:00 pm. Any medications that are NOT picked up by the last day of school will be discarded. It is not allowable for the school nurse to keep medication over the summer for the next school year. If you have any questions, feel free to call the school nurse, Becky Keith, at (270) 274-7643. Thank you.
In the event of excessive snow days occurring, it is possible that NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) days will be utilized in our district. Your child's teacher will be sending out information about how to access the NTI lessons. Be sure to stay connected through Class Dojo, so you will receive the most up-to-date information.

It's Fall Y'all. You know what that means. It is time for our annual FALL FESTIVAL sponsored by our PTO!!!! Be sure to mark Friday, October 3, on your calendar, so you don't miss it. We will have LOTS of FUN games and activities for everyone to enjoy. The fall festival will be from 5:30 pm -- 7:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you!!
Say cheese! Picture day with Studio II is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, at Western Elementary School.
Tuesday, August 5, is Western Elementary School's B2S family event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Upon entering the school, students and families will go directly to the classrooms. After classroom visits, you will want to be sure to stop by the cafeteria and library. We will have lots of community partners there ready to share B2S goodies with you!! PTO will have FREE grab-n-go meals for students and families to take outside and enjoy a family picnic together. The OC health department will be set up in room 145 (beside the library) to provide immunizations, along with immunization records. Beef O'Brady's will have FREE pizza. The B2S event will end with a ribbon cutting ceremony for our NEW outdoor pavillion at 7:15. At 7:30, for anyone who wishes to participate with us, we will have a prayer walk around our school campus.

Kentucky Department of Education has made some changes in the medication procedures we must adhere to. We still have medical professional standing orders for medications such as: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, cough drops, etc. with written parental permission. Any other medications outside the standing orders must have a medical professional’s signature in order to be given at school.
If medications are to be taken during the school day, please have your medical professional complete the Permission Form for Prescribed or Over-the-Counter Medication.

Come out and play bingo-for-books with the principal and meet our new FRC coordinator. We will be at our local Summer Feeding locations on Wednesday, July 16.
Kindergarten Jumpstart will take place at Western Elementary School on July 21-22 from 8:30-11:00 a.m. We are SO EXCITED to meet our future TIGERS!!!

WES Family Resource Center, along with our wonderfully fabulous community partners,
will provide all needed school supplies for the 2025-2026 school year.
**The only additional items needed, for parents to purchase, are a backpack and headphones.
